Common Questions
Things worth knowing
The questions that come up most often before the first session.
01
Getting started
Send a short note through the contact form. You can ask questions, share what is bringing you in, or simply say hello. We will respond to set up a time to talk and see if we are a good fit.
It is completely okay to feel unsure. The first session is an opportunity to talk about what you are looking for, ask questions, and see whether the connection feels right. You do not need to have it all figured out before you reach out.
You will hear back within a few business days to set up a time to talk. From there, we will discuss what you are hoping to work on and figure out whether to move forward with a first session.
02
Sessions & format
Sessions are held over secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You will receive a private link before each appointment and can join from your phone, tablet, or computer, from wherever feels most comfortable to you.
Most clients attend weekly 50-minute sessions to support consistency and depth in the work. The rhythm can be adjusted over time as your needs change. This is a collaboration, shaped to fit your life.
There is no set timeline. Some people come in for a few months to work through a specific transition or challenge. Others stay longer for deeper, ongoing work. You are not meant to be with us forever. Our goal is to give you the tools to heal and move forward.
03
Who we work with
We work with adults and couples navigating life transitions, relational patterns, and the experiences that shape who we are becoming. Our practice tends to attract people in moments of change: new parenthood, decade thresholds, retirement, relationship shifts, and the quieter transitions that are harder to name.
Our practice is focused on reflective, depth-oriented work and is not set up for acute crisis care. If you are in an active crisis, we are happy to offer referrals to practitioners and resources better suited to immediate support. If you are in immediate danger, please call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
We focus on individuals and couples and do not currently work with families or children. If family work is what you are looking for, we are happy to refer you to practitioners who specialize in that space.
04
Insurance & payment
Healing the Human Experience Therapy is a private pay practice and does not accept insurance. Payment is due at the time of service. We can provide a superbill if you would like to seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider.
Individual sessions are $250 online and $265 in-person for 50 minutes. Couples sessions are $275 online and $290 in-person for 50 minutes. Payment is due at the time of service.
